Many families ask us the same question when they are looking for a school: “Are you certified?” It is a fair question. But the answer that truly matters is not simply yes or no. It is what stands behind that yes.

The Renfort School Network and ESCOLE received the ICONTEC quality certification under the NTC 5801:2018 standard, as well as the recognition of the Good Innovation Practices Seal (BPI) together with the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.

And we want to share what that really means, in clear and human language, for our Seeds, for the Growers who guide them, and for the families who place their trust in us every day.

A seal is not requested. It is built.

ICONTEC certification is not obtained by simply filling out a form. It comes after a thorough review process: how we organize our processes, how we make decisions, how we improve when something does not work, and how we care for the people who make this school possible.

But it also involves something even more challenging: bringing order to innovation.

These were months of creative tension, of revisiting ideas again and again, of understanding that not every idea is innovation. That creativity without structure is only noise, and that transforming education requires discipline, not just inspiration.

What began as a simple email asking, “What if we applied?” became a 12-month process that transformed the way we think, decide, and evolve as an organization.

Our Growers participated actively, our Supports guided and strengthened every process, and families were also part of this journey. Even when they may not have realized it, every conversation, every feedback space, and every calendar adjustment contributed to this collective construction. This achievement does not belong to one specific area; it is the result of the coordinated commitment of the entire community.

This certification tells us that Renfort does not improvise. That behind every learning experience there is a way of working that is reviewed, questioned, and improved. That is what ICONTEC certifies: not perfection, but a genuine commitment to doing better.

What changes for our Seeds

Seeds will not notice a new sign at the entrance. They will notice — and many already do — that when something is not working, it is corrected. That projects have intention. That each child’s pace truly matters, not as a brochure promise, but as a daily practice.

What ICONTEC certifies, in part, is that this care does not depend on anyone’s mood: it is systematized, documented, and reviewed. Seeds deserve that. A community that learns from itself in order to guide them better.

What changes for families

When a family entrusts their children to Renfort, they are trusting people. Specific Growers, Supports who know their names, and a leadership team that responds when called upon. Certification does not replace that — it supports it.

It means there are clear processes for decision-making, that there is traceability in what we do and reasons behind every change, and that continuous improvement is not a slogan: it is part of how we operate.

The families in our community do not need a seal in order to trust Renfort. But they do deserve to know that what they feel when they arrive at the school — that sense that care truly exists here — has structure, support, and coherence behind it.

A tree is certified by its roots

Renfort’s symbol is a tree because trees grow from within. ICONTEC certification is not the tree itself: it is the confirmation that the roots are strong. That the ground we have built together — Seeds, Growers, Supports, and families — is truly fertile.

We receive this seal with pride, but above all with awareness, because it is not a finish line. It is a standard.

Now that we know how it is built and sustained within our Mycelium!
